Here we are! This is me and I’m a web developer (and designer sometimes…).
I started to design websites when I was young, maybe 14 years old, using only Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. After a few years I’ve been fascinated about Macromedia Flash so I started to build website using Flash and enrolled in a course about web development. I learned the basics of a website: design, html, css and javascript and after two years I started to focus only on these elements.
During the years, while working, I saw many different ways to build a website, many ideas of what should be better and today I’ve a deep understanding about the code behind (asp.net, php, ruby) and a life cycle of a website.
I worked for important brands and companies like Microsoft, Siemens, eBay, BBC and I’m very happy that people has always been satisfied about me.
This is a quote of one of my work mate in Microsoft:
Andrea is a highly motivated professional. He brings his massive experience on all the front-end technologies to the project. His analytical and technical skills are commendable. He is always available to help his colleagues by suggesting reliable solutions to the given problems. I would like to work with Andrea in future, and would recommend him to any future employers.
I love my works, the challenges and solving problems, because a problem is always an incentive to study something more.
When I have free time I’m always undecided whether to leave for a beer or stay at home for improving my skills… it’s always an hard decision!
My skills
I’m a front-end developer, so my main skills are:
html (up to 5), css (up to 3), javascript (jQuery, jTemplate, knockoutjs and many more…).
But I have also a deep understanding about:
c# (asp.net, asp.net MVC), php (symfony, zend), ruby (on rails) and java.
Of these I work better and I prefer asp.net MVC.
Than I’m able with:
SEO, SEM, Social Networking and Testing (BDD: qUnit) that I use for test my javascript when I build complex applications or plugins. I use also Selenium for debugging.
I know very well the following content management system: WordPress, Joomla and Orchard.
When I switch off my laptop
Yes, I have also a life without pixel, a girlfriend (my little cricket!) and a cat that like to sleep with me. I help my parents in a pizza shop, I love music: I play guitar and piano but do this means to have lot of free time… so it’s rare time.
I follow my football team in TV, sometimes I go out for a movie or a beer and I can not sleep without Discovery Channel…
… and now I will write on my blog as well.
And sorry for my english, I’ve to improve it, I know.
